Who can join Soroptimist?

Membership is open to anyone—of any gender—who shares our mission and values and lives in one of our federation countries or territories.

Where is Soroptimist located?

Soroptimist International of the Americas has clubs across North America, Latin America and the Pacific Rim. Other federations operate worldwide.

Is Soroptimist political or religious?

While we advocate for women, Soroptimist is not a political or religious organization.

What does “Soroptimist” mean?

From the Latin words soror (sister) and optima (best) — meaning “best for women.”

How much does membership cost?

Annual dues vary by club and region, averaging $100–150 per year. The club year runs July 1–June 30, with prorated rates for new members joining mid-year.
